Major Update:
On 25 July 2025, to comply with the Online Safety Act, we implemented AI technology to blur existing NSFW (Not Safe for Work) profile pictures and free gallery images. This action was necessary as a significant number of service providers did not voluntarily comply with the new regulations.
As the AI technology used is still at an experimental stage, we encountered technical difficulties due to the large volume of content and because our internal systems were not originally designed for this process.
As a result, many profiles now have blurred profile pictures, which are currently only visible to members who have completed age verification. We are aware of this issue, and our development team is building new internal tools to enable our moderators and help centre agents to correct these problems quickly.
Because of this change, you must now ensure that your username is compliant and that your profile does not display any unblurred NSFW content. If you notice any content that has been blurred or left unblurred incorrectly, please report it to us via our Help Centre.
You will also see an information message stating that your profile may not be compliant. This message will remain visible until a moderator has reviewed your profile and confirmed that all content and your username are SFW (Safe for Work).
Please be assured that this does not affect your profile in any way at present, so there is no need to worry (unless you received an email stating that your Username is in breach). Once a moderator has completed the review and marked your profile as checked, the message will automatically disappear.
If you have already received an email stating that your username is in breach of the guidelines, action may be taken to mask or blur your username for non-age-verified members and unregistered guests on the site. This will remain in place until the issue has been resolved.
We fully appreciate that these changes, made to comply with the Online Safety Act, may have caused you stress and inconvenience. Our teams are also working under significant pressure to ensure the site remains compliant while keeping your profiles visible to guests and non-age-verified members.
We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this period. The situation will stabilise and improve over the coming days.
Section 1: UK Online Safety Act Overview
We would like to inform you that, due to recent changes introduced by the UK Online Safety Act, we are required to take action to ensure the website remains compliant with these new legal obligations.
The Online Safety Act mandates that platforms hosting adult content (including user-generated content) must take steps to prevent underage from accessing pornographic or sexually explicit material, including content depicting nudity, sexual acts, or fantasies intended to cause arousal. Failure to comply could lead to access restrictions that affect all users.
To avoid restricting the entire website behind a mandatory age-verification gateway and keep your public visibility high, we are implementing a solution that keeps the website open while enforcing age verification only where required. This approach preserves access for the broader audience while protecting the viability of the platform, your visibility, and your customer base.
However, this solution requires your cooperation. Specifically, it involves updating your publicly visible content to ensure it is SFW (Safe For Work).
We are processing a high volume of moderation reviews. We strongly encourage you to begin your updates as soon as possible to avoid service disruption.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please understand that these changes are required by law and, therefore, their enforcement is beyond our control, and these changes are essential to ensure continued platform availability and legal compliance.
This applies to all Offering Service Accounts and Groups, regardless of their location, who wish to maintain a publicly visible profile on AdultWork.com.
Section 2: Safe-for-Work (SFW) vs Not-Safe-for-Work (NSFW) Guidelines
SAFE-FOR-WORK (SFW) Content definitions (and not limited to)
This is content more likely to be accepted for public areas of the platform (as well as other mainstream SFW and regulated social media platforms)

- Swimwear, sportswear, or lingerie worn in a non-sexualised context
- Suggestive poses without nudity or simulated sex
- Profile photos showing headshots, clothed portraits
- Selfies or portraits, everyday/lifestyle photos
- Tasteful artistic or editorial-style photos with no genitals, nipples, or overt sexual emphasis
- Thumbnails or banners that do not reveal intimate parts or simulate sexual acts
Text Content (Applies only to Free Gallery Photo Description and Group Description):
- Flirty, playful, or innuendo-based language (e.g,. "Looking for fun?", "Let’s chat...")
- Descriptions of services or interests that avoid graphic sexual language
- Use of emojis or light suggestive phrases that don’t explicitly describe sexual acts
NOT-SAFE-FOR-WORK (NSFW) Content definitions (and not limited to)
Must only appear to be age-verified. Not permitted in public sections.
Visual Content:
- Full or partial genital nudity: full-frontal nudity, close-up shots of genitalia, visible nipples, exposed buttocks, sexual poses
- Depictions of real or simulated sex acts, including oral sex, penetration, masturbation, and intercourse
- Fetish material involving bondage gear, sex toys, or domination scenarios
- Individuals engaging in provocative sexual acts, even if clothed, e.g., A fully dressed person
- mimicking thrusting or moaning suggestively, or using their body/clothing to simulate a sex act.
- Any visual content with explicit sexual gestures, moaning, or arousal-focused framing
- Pornographic cartoon content or AI-generated explicit imagery
- Use of emojis or light suggestive phrases that don’t explicitly describe sexual acts (e.g., eggplant, peach, sweat droplets, tongue, fingers, +18 sign, fire, banana, hot pepper)
Text Content (Applies only to Free Gallery Photo Description and Group Description):
- Graphic descriptions of sexual acts (e.g., "I love deep...", "Watch me [act]")
- Reference to body fluids, ejaculation, or sexually violent scenarios
- Solicitation phrased in sexual terms (e.g., "come f*** me now")
- Any language clearly intended to cause sexual arousal or simulate sexual conduct
General Rule:
If a reasonable person would view the image/text and assume it was created primarily to cause sexual arousal, it is NSFW and must be restricted to age-verified members only.
Section 3: New Updates:
This section will be updated as we have more to share with you.
21/05/2025: Mailshot + Article to inform Offering Members and Group Managers about the UK Online Act and actions needed to remain compliant.
22/05/2025: Only SFW images will be accepted as Profile Pictures and Public Galleries. Deadline for profiles to become SFW (Profile + Public Galleries) is 01/07/2025.
01/07/2025: The moderation team will start moderating all profiles to ensure that the Profile Pictures and Public Galleries are compliant and SFW. The checks will be a full queue of all active Offering Members Profiles and Groups, in a random sorting. If your profile is not compliant, we may need to remove NSFW pictures to minimise any disruption to your business. If further changes are required, we will inform you as soon as possible.
21/05/2025: In parallel with the efforts of the Offering Members and Group Managers, the development team will start blurring/hiding/adding alternative SFW text/media for the other NSFW areas, for NON-Age Verified Seeking Members.
Further updates and notifications will be added below:
Update 02/06/2025: Please note that if you are trying to upload faceless content, and the images are just focused on your intimate body parts, which are primarily used to cause sexual arousal, these will be rejected.
Update 12/06/2025: Please edit the text description of your Free Gallery to be SFW
Update 23/06/2025: Please edit the Usernames to be SFW (if this applies)
Update 22-25/07/2025: To become compliant, AI has been used to blur the remaining NSFW galleries.
Guests and Non-AV registered Seeking Members (accessing from the UK, EU, USA) will be able to see NSFW content only once they have logged in and successfully Age Verified.
Update 13/08/2025: Profile Pictures update - if a close-up image reveals too much detail of intimate areas, even if the image is blurred, it may still be considered unsuitable for minors. Such images are being removed now. For more details, please see the following article: https://help.adultwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/38060803623185-Why-my-Profile-Picture-has-been-removed-as-NSFW
