What Is DirectCam?

DirectCam allows you to broadcast real-time webcam and chat sessions. You can cam for individuals or Groups at the rates you set, and optionally enable audio.

What do I need to offer DirectCam?

• An internet connection
• A webcam
  
• A PC, smartphone, or tablet (iPhone/iPad users need Safari)
  
• Confidence and an exhibitionist streak

What Is DirectIM?

DirectIM is a simplified version of DirectCam that lets you offer pay-per-minute text-only chat without streaming video. You can chat with individuals or Groups at the rates you set.

What do I need to offer DirectIM?

• An internet connection
  
• A web browser (no webcam required)

How They Work

To offer either DirectIM or DirectCam:

1. Set your Free, Group, and Private options and rates here.
   
2. Set your show category and strapline here.
   
   
3. Log in to the DirectCam Broadcaster and click Start Broadcast.
   
   • Use PC, smartphone, or tablet (iPhone/iPad users need Safari).
     
4. Once live, your availability will show on the DirectCam/DirectIM pages, and links will appear on your profile.

Modes

Both DirectIM and DirectCam use the same session modes:

• Free Mode
  
  • Introductory area where you can meet members before they pay.
    
  • Builds trust and increases the chance of paid sessions.
    
  • Offering Free Mode gives you extra exposure on the homepage.
    
  • Disabled automatically while you are in a Group or Private.
    
• Group Mode
  
  • Shared paid chat area.
    
  • Multiple members can join and are billed at your Group rate.
    
  • In DirectIM: text chat only.
    
  • In DirectCam: video, chat, and optional audio.
    
• Private Mode
  
  • One-to-one private room with a member.
    
  • Billed at your Private rate.
    
  • In DirectIM: text chat only.
    
  • In DirectCam: video, chat, and optional audio.

Note: While you are in a Group or Private, Free Preview is disabled. Other members trying to join will be informed that you are currently conducting a session. If you are in Group mode, they will be invited to join in.

Billing & Credits

• Credits are debited from members automatically based on your rates and session duration.
  
• You are credited to your AdultWork.com account at the end of the session.
  
• A minimum of 2 minutes’ credit is required before a member can start a paid session.
  
• You earn the full-minute rate for every minute (or part of a minute).

Facility Fee:

• A 9.5% facility fee is deducted from your credits after the session.
  
• This covers the cost of third-party technology.
  
• Although unavoidable, it is offset by the higher revenues possible in Group sessions.

• No need to watch the clock; billing is automatic.

  • Handling multiple chats at once in DirectIM (Group).
    
  • Broadcasting to unlimited viewers in DirectCam.

Example:

• Pre-book webcam: 1-to-1 at 2 credits per minute for 10 mins = 20 credits (plus the hassle of booking and hand-holding the client).
  
• DirectCam: multi-broadcast to 10 viewers at 1 credit per minute each for 10 mins = 100 credits.
