Can I choose my thumbnail?
Yes! When uploading your Movie, you will be presented with a selection of stills to choose from or you can upload a custom thumbnail to use.
When using a custom thumbnail, please ensure the image is from/relevant to the content as misleading thumbnails will result in the content being removed. You may use thumbnails that are not an image themselves, i.e. your name on a background, etc. but this has the potential to result in lower sales so make sure your title and description reflect the content well.
How do I change it?
On your Movie Library page:
- Select the Movie that you wish to update the thumbnail for and select Edit.
- Click the 'Select thumbnail' button in the Thumbnail area.
- Select a new image from your device and Upload
- Once uploaded, click on the newly uploaded picture to select it as the new Thumbnail
- Close the dialogue window and scroll down to press the 'Submit' button.
- The system will refresh the Thumbnail area and the new Thumbnail will be displayed
Is there a preferred image size?
Not particularly; when using custom thumbnails, the image will be processed into the correct size once uploaded to the site. We would recommend using images between 1280x720px and 3480x2160px for best results though.
If you are using stills from a movie that has been filmed in portrait mode on a mobile device, you may notice that your thumbnail appears stretched. This is because thumbnails are processed in widescreen format. We would suggest either filming in landscape mode or preparing a widescreen (landscape) image in advance.
